Call Sign's Summer Iced Coffee Cocktail

Summer is here and we used some basic ingredients to make a scrumptious cocktail that goes well with anything!  While many of us rarely have left over coffee, make a little extra next brew, cool and pour into ice cubes trays in preparation for this cocktail OR iced coffee.

We're always testing out our Call Sign Coffee recipes - feel free to send us yours!

CALL SIGN'S SUMMER ICED COFFEE COCKTAIL

(5 min, 1 serving)

Ingredients

1/3- 1/2 cup Espresso or Strongly Brewed (Stout) Call Sign Coffee (we used ½ cup) OR use Iced Coffee

2 1/2 Tbsp Sweetened Condensed Milk (trust us..use this much!)

Frozen – Prep ahead

Coffee Ice Cubes (prep ahead of time)

Liquor & Mixer

1 oz  Piña Colada Mixer (pineapple & Coconut tropical mixer) OR Coconut rum

3 oz Rum, dark

Rim dust (mix together, wet rim of glass, dip glass into this mixture)

1 Tbsp Coffee Beans, ground

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

Directions: Mix together Stout Coffee with Sweetened Condensed Milk in separate glass and let cool.  Add Piña Colada Mixer (we prefer the mixer to the Coconut rum) and Rum into prepared glass with Rim Dust and Coffee cubes.  Once cooled, pour into prepared glass. Enjoy!

The flavor is somewhere between coffee ice cream and a Black Russian... VERY refreshing to sip while watching the summer stars come out.

Call Sign Iced Coffee is a creamy, sweet coffee cocktail that’s sure to cool you off on the hottest summer evenings.

The best way to make iced coffee is to get some old fashioned ice cube trays and fill them with coffee to make coffee ice cubes. Then, when you want to make iced coffee just fill a heatproof container with the coffee ice, add hot coffee and in a few minutes you’ll have your iced coffee and can proceed with the recipe. Don’t use glass for this because it could shatter.

Since we’re making this with espresso it doesn’t take much ice to chill it right down. If you don’t have espresso go ahead and make your regular coffee but double strength. Or just start with this good cold brew:

HOW TO MAKE COLD BREW COFFEE

Want to know how to make cold brew coffee so you can have a batch ready to go anytime you want one of these Call Sign Iced Coffee Cocktails?

SO stupid simple.

You’ll want a quart of water to about 3/4 cup coarsely ground coffee – the coarser the better.

Stir the ground coffee into the water.

Cover and let sit at room temperature for 24 hours (we keep it in our refrigerator).

Strain the mixture through a filter into a clean jar or pitcher.

If you have a French Press you can do the whole thing right in your press.  If you don't have a French Press - go out and buy one (you can grab one for about $10 at a discount store).

You are now ready to make any kind of iced coffee drink you want. You should really start with this one, though!

HAPPY SUMMER!
